Sometimes when opening files, saving or other manipulations in 3D Max, a critical error occurs due to which the program crashes.
And in the end you can see this window about sending an error.

If this window annoys you and you don't want to see it, it's easy to do.

To do this, open File Explorer, then locate the 3D Max installation folder.

  • Drive C;
  • Program Files;
  • Autodesk;
  • Select your version of 3D Max here.

Find the file “senddmp.exe”.
You don’t even need to delete it, just rename it.
Add an underscore at the beginning and end of the name.

My example:

C:/Program Files/Autodesk/3Ds Max 2022/__senddmp.exe__
Note!
For some 3D Max files, the senddmp.exe file may be in other subfolders, use the search in Explorer!

After restarting 3D Max, this window will no longer bother you.

Note!
If you want to return everything to the way it was, rename this file back.

This method will not help against program crashes, but at least you won't have to make extra clicks to close this annoying window.

Automatic restart

How can I make 3Ds Max restart automatically instead of the Send Dump window?
